Forresters Apprentices impress on Graduation Day

Graduation day at the Forresters Training Academy was a showcase of talent

Megan Doyle (Forresters Tilehurst) and Charley Guinan (Forresters Wallingford) recently completed their City & Guilds Apprenticeship with a dazzling display of dexterity and decorative delights at the Forresters Training Academy.

The official title of the Apprenticeship qualification is NVQ Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Hairdressing and Tuesday 6th August was the culmination of 3 years of hard work and dedication.

Helen Cleaver, Academy Director introduced the Graduates and their models to the audience and provided an overview of the Apprenticeship and concluding module.

Megan and Charley both explained their creative process and practical methods to the audience.

The final Graduation unit was ‘Develop Enhance and Evaluate Your Creaftive Hairdressing Skills’ and the girls chose a ‘nature and outdoors’ theme to build their ideas around.
Both styles, ‘Rosebush’ and ‘Butterfly Tree’ involved intricate braiding in sections of hair that was coloured and cut by the students previously. Ornamentation and a hair piece was a required part of the mix.
Inspired use of butterflies on Megan’s model Amy, and leaves, roses and pearls on Charley’s model Abbie, developed the theme with stunning results.

Their parents, friends tutors and trainers were all totally wowed by the level of skill and creativity showcased at the graduation ceremony.

Congratulations Charley and Megan from everyone in the Forresters Group of Salons!

Versatile and glamorous in equal measure, both up-do’s would be perfect for a country wedding, a festival or some holiday cool.

Next steps for our Graduates

Megan and Charley will now be working as Graduate Stylists in their respective salons and will build on their skill sets to develop their careers within the group.
