At Forresters, we allow 30 minutes for the treatment, giving you plenty of time to undress and cover hair beforehand and also wait before dressing should you feel you need it
And not only is Crystal Clear Instant Spray Tan a safe and healthy alternative to baking in the sun, its active anti-ageing properties actually benefit the skin
When booking your tan, your therapist will advise you to prepare in advance for your treatment at home. The day before, you will need to exfoliate your whole body and moisturise lightly
On the morning of your treatment, you should shower with a non-moisturising shower gel, remembering not to moisturise afterwards. Neither should you use body sprays, perfume or deodorant. It is also advised that you do not wear jewellery or make up
Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment and slip on shoes, such as flip-flops. You can wear a bikini or briefs if you like but please ensure that they are dark-coloured in case of discolouration
To allow your spray tan to develop naturally and evenly, you shouldn’t exercise and you shouldn’t sweat if you can avoid it - so don’t go to the gym or sauna! You should also avoid showering until the following morning otherwise your tan may not settle and it won’t develop properly
Following these precautions will help ensure your tan lasts a full seven days. Following your spray tan, you should moisturise daily but avoid exfoliation
Showering is kinder to your tan than bathing, so please avoid baths if you can to ensure a long-lasting colour

Ideally, you should wait until the morning after your spray tan before washing. We also recommend you avoid exercising as sweating may affect the development of your tan. It is recommended that you allow 12 hours before washing to allow your tan to develop to its optimum colour
Your tan should last up to 7 days and will fade just like a normal tan
If you want a darker colour, we can apply a second layer in the same week. Weekly sessions after that will maintain your colour
If you require extra spraying on targeted areas during your initial session, Forresters offer a Spray Tan Extra option for a small additional cost
