Salon Tanning at Forresters

Available At: Halls Road, Tilehurst

As the weather warms up, you’ll be beginning to shed the layers that you’ve been wrapping yourself up in for months and hoping to bare some skin. But after so long in the shade, your skin is likely to be a whiter shade of pasty. So why not prepare your skin for baring with a fake tan?

While self-tan products are excellent for use at home, nothing beats a salon tan to ensure you’re expertly and evenly bronzed all over.

A salon-trained therapist will also ensure it lasts for as long as possible, not only preparing your skin in advance to bring it to optimum condition for absorbing the tanning product but also using the most effective application techniques and providing you with advice on how to maintain your gorgeous glow once you get home.

Fake tanning can be a messy business, so why risk your own bathroom, towels and - yes, the palms of your own hands - when you can have a trained therapist take on all that for you?

The Forresters beauty salon at Tilehurst offers a choice of bronzing treatments to suit you.

Pre-treatment Preparation
Salon Tanning at Forresters

When booking your tan, your therapist will advise you to prepare in advance for your treatment at home. The day before, you will need to exfoliate your whole body and moisturise.

On the morning of your treatment, you should shower with a non-moisturising shower gel, remembering not to moisturise afterwards. Neither should you use body sprays, perfume or deodorant. It is also advised that you do not wear jewellery or make up.

Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment and slip on shoes, such as flip-flops. You can wear a bikini or briefs if you like but please ensure that they are dark-coloured in case of discolouration.

After Care
Salon Tanning at Forresters

To allow your spray tan to develop naturally and evenly, you shouldn’t exercise and you shouldn’t sweat if you can avoid it - so don’t go to the gym or sauna! You should also avoid showering until the following morning otherwise your tan may not settle and it won’t develop properly.

Following these precautions will help ensure your tan lasts a full seven days. Following your spray tan, you should moisturise daily but avoid exfoliation.

Showering is kinder to your tan than bathing, so please avoid baths if you can to ensure a long-lasting colour.
